  • China is rich with customs and traditions which are passed down by generations by their ancestors and one of them includes their dance and performances.
  • There are many types of traditional dances and those are the famous dragon dance, the fan dance, Chinese Opera stage plays, and many more.

Food and Delicacies 

  • The Chinese are encouraged to be balanced in everything including food.
  • Spiritual teaching of balance which is ying (cool) and yang (hot) are followed by the Chinese.
  • Rice is one of the main meal they take and is eaten several times a day which will be served with other meals.
  • Bean sprouts, scallions, gingerroot and cabbage are some of their traditional food.

  • Tea plays a big role in Chinese tradition. 
  • As Chinese society developed, consumption of tea has remained as a practice while tea production has played a role in their traditions.
  • The spirit and wisdom of human beings to a higher level can be brought out by a practicing tea culture. 
  • Chinese tea comes in various different flavors and it also has a great medicinal value to it.

Traditional Clothing
  • The traditional clothing of the Chinese refers to their lifestyle back then.
  • The people of China also used various type of ornaments to decorate their clothes way back in time almost 4500 years ago.
  • Silk was also one of the main elements used to make clothes during ancient times, and it is still a tradition right up to this day.


Festivals in China

Lantern Festival
 

  •  15th day of the first Chinese lunar month is when the Lantern Festival (also known as the Yuanxiao Festival) is celebrated .
  • The lanterns generally last about 5-10 minutes before either being too far off to see the go, or before they eventually burn out and gracefully tumble back to earth.

Spring Festival

  • The spring festival is when all the family member get together and celebrate and also its the most important festival.
  •  1st day of the 1st lunar month is the Spring Festival  celebrated .
  • Dragon dance and Lion dance are traditionally performed as for recreational activities during the Spring Festival.
